1. The minimum rental period is 24 hours.

Taxes
Taxes are mandatory and apply to all transactions, in compliance with local and national tax regulations. These charges are non-waivable and non-refundable.
Credit or Debit Card Hold
For all rentals, a hold will be placed on the customer’s credit or debit card as a security deposit for the duration of the rental period.
The hold will be released at the end of the rental, once the vehicle has been inspected and it has been confirmed that there are no outstanding charges.
If the customer:
- Requests additional rental days, the corresponding charge for the extension of the rental period will be applied.
- Returns the vehicle with a fuel discrepancy, the corresponding amount will be charged to the card based on the current fuel rate.
Any additional charges will be communicated to the customer and handled in accordance with the terms set forth in the rental agreement.
Additional Drivers
A daily fee of $5 will be charged for each additional driver listed on the rental agreement. This fee applies to each person designated as an authorized driver during the rental period.
Fuel Service Fee
We offer our customers two options for managing fuel during their vehicle rental:
Option 1 – Prepaid Fuel (at the time of rental)
The customer can choose to prepay for fuel, which will allow them to:
- Save time during their trip.
- Avoid having to search for gas stations before returning the vehicle.
- Reduce unnecessary risks related to refueling.
Option 2 – Payment Upon Vehicle Return
If the vehicle is returned with a fuel level lower than when it was received, a fuel charge will be applied in accordance with the rates established in the rental agreement.
Credit Cards
CanaCar in the Dominican Republic accepts Mastercard and Visa.
Some credit cards provide insurance coverage with certain limitations, such as the benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. Customers are advised to contact their card issuer before renting. Any exemptions must be discussed directly with the rental location upon arrival.
Debit cards issued in the Dominican Republic are accepted only for final payments.
